About MPPA
Established in 1963, MPPA works to build community among amateur and professional press photographers across the state of Michigan. Our annual photo contest and conference celebrates the best of the best visual journalism work from across the state each year, as well as providing scholarships to photojournalism students through an endowment from the Gillette family and the University of Michigan - Stamps School of Art & Design. Three esteemed photojournalists are welcomed to the annual conference each spring, allowing our membership to watch a live judging of the photo contest entries. Attendees are also welcome to sign up for portfolio reviews with a wide array of professionals working in our state and beyond.
